The case for this training

Menopause care is never neutral.

Nearly every menopause protocol affirms a model of bodies, aging, sexuality, and identity. When care affirms gender for cis patients, there's no friction. But every body deserves gender-affirming menopause care — and that requires updated frameworks, not just good intentions. Gender-affirming menopause care isn't niche. It's the future of competent medicine.

🌐

For every bodyGender-affirming care is for every patient — not only trans bodies.

🧠

Updated frameworksClinical confidence requires knowledge that mainstream training doesn't provide.

🤝

Patients deserve betterCare that actually fits their bodies, identities, and lives.

Lasara Firefox Allen, MSW (they/them/Mx.)

Certified Menopause Doula & Coach · IAOTH-Accredited Educator · Founder & CEO, Genderqueer Futures LLC · Author, Genderqueer Menopause (North Atlantic Books, 2026) · Member: WPATH/USPATH, GLMA, The Menopause Society

Mx. Firefox Allen's path into gender-affirming menopause care began with their own experience navigating perimenopause and menopause as a genderqueer person. That lived foundation — combined with an MSW grounded in structural analysis and liberatory practice — shapes every dimension of their work. They have coached and educated hundreds of trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive adults, as well as the clinicians who serve them, toward empowered, identity-centered menopause care. Their approach bridges evidence-based practice, community wisdom, and visionary leadership.

What participants say

Cohort Spring 2026

"This course has been genuinely transformative for me — one of the most impactful learning experiences I've had in my career. It has completely shifted my perspective. The training has also strengthened my sense of responsibility — not just to provide inclusive care, but to help shape better systems. As part of this, I am working within my role on the British Menopause Society advisory panel to develop guidance on gender-affirming menopause care, with the aim of supporting healthcare professionals across the UK."
GP and Menopause Specialist, UK (she/her)
"It's clear that Lasara has put a lot of thought into making this course immediately actionable while creating a container that feels safe and non-judgmental, regardless of your starting point. Lasara and colleagues have given me a lot of food for thought to help my clinic experience feel affirming from the first touch points."
Vanessa Weiland, NP, MSCP (she/her) · Nurse Practitioner, Menopause Specialist
"Before I took this course, I thought gender-affirming menopause care was something you could learn by reading journals and listening to podcasts. I was wrong. This course opened my heart and my mind to relate deeply to the struggles of gender-expansive people. The biggest shift in my thinking is recognizing that gender-affirming menopause care is menopause care, period."
Roisin McGlynn (she/her) · Menopause Coach & Yoga Teacher
"The most significant shift for me is better understanding the medical side of menopause in a gender-expansive context. I appreciate Lasara, first and foremost, for doing this work with so much heart and humility. The depth of their content expertise is apparent, but their flexibility, willingness to engage in hard conversations, and sincere desire to see everyone thrive are the qualities of a truly excellent teacher."
Dr. Sarah Glasco (she/her) · Author & Speaker, Co-host of the ADHD Peri Punks Podcast
"Thanks to this course, I'm expanding the inclusivity of the language I use for our bodies and gender-affirming care as trans people. My passion for working with and for trans health equity in Puerto Rico has been fueled by what I've learned. I carry forward the affirmation that our transformations are as infinite as we are."
Amadore Figueroa Palmer (them) · Public Health Specialist & LGBTQIA+ Health Equity Activist
"Mx. Allen is a leader in the genderqueer menopause space! Their course for clinicians was fantastic, allowing for deep personal and professional growth, and interdisciplinary discussion. Lasara is also available for 1:1 consultations for complex situations and has been an invaluable resource to my practice!"
Dr. Kristin Gianelis, DNP, APRN, ANP-BC, WHNP-BC, MSCP, CNE (she/her)
